Stitch Along: Week 21

Evening all!  So we have 18 more school days, but the kids are D.O.N.E!!!!!  walked into the cafeteria today and it was as if all the kindergarten and 1st graders had LOST THEIR MINDS!!!!!!  My class would not stop talking today......see we had Field Day (Fun Day) last week...for various reasons, it got moved...including many snow days.....and school is done for them...but in reality we have three more weeks....but all the testing is done....we are all just ready for summer...luckily it has been a wet and chilly spring and we are not roasting in our classrooms yet (an occasional day)...I do need to get caught up on some correcting and grading....but that has to be done by the 7th...and we go until the 16th...really? REALLY?????
So...I actually worked on quite a few things...but did I take pictures?  I don't know..let me check the camera card, cuz I'm too lazy to go get my phone and the plug...that would be a no...so I'll go get it...be right back.....
First question....I've never added a contrast heel...which do you recommend?  And I'm using the 9" needles for this...I usually use DPNs...any advice (and sorry IG followers, I know I posted this already)

New crochet shawl with Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK....I think this will be a great shawl and will get used A LOT!!!!  The hook was a thank you gift from a friend, because I donated yarn to her church.

Got to the toe...going to have to tink back...it's too big, so will have to start the decreases earlier....

There may have been a few rows on some other things....but these were the major ones......

I did post a mini stash acquisition on Saturday, if you'd care to take a peek...nothing like the last two Saturdays...and oh yeah this Saturday is Mass Sheep and Wool...expect some more stashing...

Oh and started a new medicine this week...so I may actually be able to go out in the sun...but there are other side effects.....sheesh!

So how about you?  What are you working on?  Please link up and link back...thanks!

Stitch Along: Week 20

Good evening!  So how are we all this week?  I'm doing well....I had the day off today for my third infusion....doctor is changing my weekly meds, so hopefully I can be in the sun without having a reaction...yeah!  But it'll still be a couple of weeks before the previous medication is weaned out of my body...so I still need to be careful....

On the crafting front....well does it count if you carry projects around with you, even if you never pull them out?

I'm not one of those people that knits or crochets in line, at sporting events, get togethers, etc....I just can't...knitting I have to pay too much attention to what I am doing and crochet is usually not that portable....BUT I want to be one of those people, so I do pop projects in my bag every so often....I cannot craft at school....too many other things to do...and lunch is not long enough....

So I did put some stitches on my Porch Winkle....
this is an old photo, as I haven't taken a new one....I was baffled as to where I was in the pattern, so tinked back until I figured it out.....it's probably double that size now....I truly love this yarn.....

I'm all about the shawls right now, as I've been wearing them to protect my neck from the sun's rays....so really want to finish all my shawls WIPs...8 of them!  with many, many, many waiting in the wings!

I think that may be all I've worked on this week...lots of carrying around, very little actual crafting...

So how was your week?  What did you carry around with you?

Vanilla fingerless mitts (12/25/15) - Think I'm going to frog and do different mitts or crochet them.
Zombie Vixen mitts (10/17/15)- why I may crochet the others...have these and still working on them, again cabling

Swinging with Winkle (6/4/16)- I love this so much!  Just need to finish it!

Outlander MKAL (8/8/14)  - possibility of finishing this..the yarn is so yummy

Well the things in BOLD, I have put some time into....My Multnomah is on the edging....I'm thinking I'll be making lots of scarves, as I'm going to need them to keep the sun off my neck....

I also have a couple other socks that are not on the list, I'll have to update those!

Also my mindless cowl was done awhile ago...so I updated that....

I also started and finished my Perfectly Pooled hat with my Exploding Tardis...

I have bought a sh!t ton of yarn lately, so I need to be working and finishing things up, but my hands are not always cooperating....

So that is my update...sorry no pics...it's 10 at night here.....

Stash Acquisition Saturday - Not Even Looking at the Final Total!

So two weekends ago, I had Connecticut Sheep and Wool and Stitches United...yes, same weekend....

And, yeah, my credit card was flagged and a hold was put on it......I'm not even going to add up the final bill...it was worth it!

Connecticut Sheep and Wool Look I found a UV protection hat!...Onto the yarnz...

So the green and brown in the front are for a Goofy inspired hat for a friend's son from Fiberstash.
Some Dirty Water Dyeworks
The bundle is for that cowl in the middle...

Some very pretty alpaca yarn from a favorite farm, Burgis Brook.....some buttons from Katrinkles and a Superhero Jessalu bag.......

Then we went to Stitches United...Day 1
Lordy!  So what do I have here?  Some White Birch to make this shawl
Then there is a Never Stay Nuetral skein from White Birch

The other small rainbow skein is by Artful...and I bought it because of the sales pitch of the young boy in the booth.....(teacher here!)
Winterfell from Destination Yarn (but should have gotten the show special too...Elizabeth Park..darn!)
The blue and grey is Moo Roo in Dark Arctic Ice...I don't remember why I bought it...
The bottom right is Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey from Into the Whirled...no explanation needed
The skein just above it is my first skein of Eden Cottage in the softest yellow imaginable...I bought the pattern for this skein of yarn...
The minis are a Harry Potter set from Canon Hand Dyes

Stitches United Day 2
It was all about the chartreuse on Day 2
The top skein is A Hundred Ravens in Hungarian Horntail, they have a whole dragon thing going on and if you told them the name of your favorite dragon, you received a discount....me?  Elliott from Pete's Dragon (the original)
Then I got their ....And Peggy minis....I am not a Hamilton fan (yet), but was loving the soft colors....
Bought some Yarn Pimp and Wollmeise from the Do Ewe Knit booth...they were sharing a space with StevenBe and I walked away with his Exploding Tardis
Then, heaven help me!  I found a chartreuse mini set!  I literally said outloud, "Holy F*ck! It's mine!" It's from Seven Sisters Arts....
I topped it off with an Erin Lane Harry Potter Sheeple bag

So what else arrived in the mail?
Mad Color's BAMF club...Lucy Preston...had to look her up.....
Knitted Wit Her Story....May Day celebrating Hattie Canty

I also received a Nerd Girl Random Fandom, but don't seem to have taken a photo of it, hmmm...and can't quite lay my hands on it at the moment....so next update...I also joined Camp Loopy today, so have some of that yarn heading my way......in two weeks is Massachusetts Sheep and Wool and then festivals are over until the fall!

Whoop!!!!  It took me all day to get this up!  Hahahahahaha!

Wrapup Friday

Yep...I've got a finish!!!!  Whoo-hooo!!!

This is the Perfectly Pooled Hat by DrawFour Designs.  It's deigned to pool the yarn is certain ways...my yarn striped for the most part.....I bought this at Stitches United in the SteveBe booth

It was Exploding Tardis from StevenBe and Three Irish Girls....
It did pool a bit on the top, but I loved that it striped...
Anyone else with a finish?  I'll throw the link up in case.....

Stitch Along Week 19

Good Tuesday evening my peepers!!!!!!

I did a bit of knitting this week, but been having a flareup since last Wednesday, so it's been hit or miss.....but I did finish the garter section of my Multnoma...
Yea, it looks like a big ole giant lump...but I am ready to go onto the feather and fan section of the shawl....I think this will be a great shawl to pair with jeans...very casual...the yarn is Ball and Skein Super Sock 416 in Manise... I added it to my stash in 2013, it may be older than that...I know I bought it at CT Sheep and Wool many years ago.....

This is a week of testing at school....gah!  But it's the last of it!  We have a field trip on Friday and then it's all downhill......May is the craziest month of the school year, even though we don't finish until June.....

So anything new with you?  I have been reading blogs, but haven't left a ton of comments...forgive me....so please link back up....I hope to do the stash update this Saturday and a Friday Finish, but the next three days are crazy busy after school....so we'll see.....
